Welcome to DES Music!

My name is Mrs. Hobbs. I'm a native of Jackson, GA and grew up in the Butts County School System. I'm married to Greg Hobbs and we have two grown-up children, Cady and Jake. Cady is a very talented singer and dancer. She works in a Dr's office and teaches dance at T & K Studios. Jake is a great drummer and a Senior at UGA. He marches in the Redcoat Band. Go DAWGS!!

I graduated from JHS in 1981. I attended Tift College and received my Bachelors of Music Education degree in 1985. I attended Georgia State University and received my mastors of Music Education degree and was able to sing in the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra Chorus while living in Atlanta. It was AWESOME!!

I have been teaching in Butts County schools for 23 years. I've taught at Jackson High and Henderson, but my absolute FAVORITE is Daughtry Elementary! I've been here 14 years. I really enjoy directing the chorus, the handbells and especially the musicals (Cinderella, Beauty & the Beast, Lion King, Aladdin, Jungle Book, Aristocats and many more). We have performed at the Governor's Mansion, the State Capital, Atlanta Braves Stadium, Disney World and Universal Studios. Teaching music is the BEST JOB EVER!!!
