My name is Daphne Sockwell and I am the Talented and Gifted teacher here at Jackson Elementary. This year I look forward to getting to work directly with the classroom teachers and my students IN their classrooms.  We will work on critical thinking and creative activities as well as advanced content in their classes. The platform will look different this year, but I am excited about getting to see my students on a more daily basis. This is my 12th year at JES. I have taught 4th and 5th grade and am entering my 3rd year as a TAG teacher. I love creating an academically challenging environment for my students and watching their problem-solving skills develop as well as their creativity!

In addition to TAG, I am also the co-sponsor for our robotics team here at JES. We compete in the FIRST Lego League Challenge annually. In addtion, I am the co-sponsor for our Beta Club. We get to do several service projects throughout the year and watching our students becoming young leaders always brings me joy!
