Dear Butts County Families,
We closely monitor forecasts for severe weather that may impact our area during school arrival times. Current forecasts indicate the possibility of strong thunderstorms, damaging winds, and isolated tornados. If weather conditions require any changes to school operations or transportation, families will be notified promptly through Infinite Campus by 6:00 A.M. We encourage families to monitor local weather reports Monday morning and allow additional time for travel if conditions warrant.
Please note that bus transportation will be suspended if a tornado WARNING is issued in our area. If this occurs, buses will not depart until the warning has expired and it is safe to resume transportation. No student should be at a bus stop if a tornado WARNING has been issued.

On the afternoon of September 1, 2026, a Henderson Middle School student suffered a medical emergency requiring transportation by helicopter.
