Growing Readers is a kindergarten through fifth grade professional learning opportunity that provides consistent and high-quality professional learning to teachers on evidence-based reading instruction. The system of learning aims to support teachers by building their knowledge, skills, and confidence to increase the number of children reading at grade level.

On Thursday, April 2nd, Stark Elementary welcomed district administrators and instructional leaders for our Growing Readers Learning Walks.  The purpose of a learning walk is to strengthen our understanding of the Growing Readers principles and practices and admire the reading instruction taking place in classrooms.  We were able to admire the hard work of teachers and students working on high impact routines, strategy groups, and independent reading application practice.
