2024 REACH Scholarship Ceremony
The Butts County School System is proud to announce the 2024 REACH scholarship recipients. Congratulations to Madison Daniels, Ella Davis, Amari Evans, Kaydence Gentle, and Jada Wallace.
On Thursday, November 7, 2024, REACH scholars, their parents, and BCSS superintendent, Mr. Lowe, signed contracts committing to their individual responsibilities towards helping the student graduate high school and achieve future success.
REACH Georgia is a needs-based mentorship and college scholarship program aimed at ensuring Georgia's low-income students have the academic, social, and financial support needed to achieve postsecondary success.
By signing their contract, students agree to maintain at least a 2.5 grade-point average through their senior year of high school. Additionally, students must remain crime, drug, and behavior-issue free, and meet with a volunteer mentor and academic coach until they graduate from high school.
Guardians agree to support and encourage their student, attend REACH Georgia sponsored meetings, and continually communicate with school personnel and volunteers to ensure their student is on the path to high school graduation.
Upon graduation from high school, if the scholars have met all the requirements, they will be awarded a $10,000 scholarship to be used while they are enrolled full-time at a HOPE-eligible college or university in Georgia.
The Butts County School System has been naming REACH scholars since 2015. Thanks to generous donations from the community, BCSS has been able to offer 30 students the opportunity to become REACH scholars! We are excited to watch these students grow with this opportunity and are grateful to be part of such a generous community.
