Leigh Ann Worley

Welcome to Second Grade! A few fun facts about me: I have spent my entire 20-year teaching career at Daughtry Elementary School. I am a Daughtry Colt through and through! I taught in the classroom (grades 1st-3rd) for 7 years before becoming certified in Physical Education. I have been a Physical Education teacher for the past 12 years. I am so excited to celebrate my 20th year of teaching by going back into the classroom to teach second grade. I will continue to coach 7th & 8th grade volleyball at Henderson Middle School. Although I love coaching, I am so excited to be back in the classroom. I have missed teaching academics and the 180 days I get to spend with my little classroom family. My teaching philosophy is that all students are capable of doing hard things with drive, determination, and a positive mindset. Let's get to work!

A little about me: I grew up in Marietta, Georgia, where I participated in numerous sports, including tennis, softball, volleyball, and swimming. I am a two-sport collegiate athlete in swimming and volleyball from Wingate University in North Carolina. Sports have allowed me to mold my mindset for all of life's challenges and opportunities. I moved to Jackson from Charlotte, North Carolina in 2003. I have two children, Lucy, 14, and Tripp, 10, who attend Butts County Schools. My family and I enjoy the small-town community. Jackson is a special place!
