Welcome to the Ambush!
I’m thrilled to begin another exciting year with our Henderson Middle School family. Together, we are embarking on a journey filled with opportunities for growth, learning, and success. My mission is to help create meaningful experiences—both in and out of the classroom—that challenge and inspire our students. I believe that students thrive when they are surrounded by compassionate, committed adults who believe in their potential. It is a true privilege to be a Henderson Tiger!
Originally from Birmingham, Alabama, I’ve called Georgia home for the past 24 years. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education from The University of Alabama, a Master of Arts in High School History from UAB, and two Education Specialist degrees—one in Teaching and Learning from Liberty University, and another in Educational Leadership from Georgia College and State University. During my time in Georgia, I met my amazing husband, Jason. While we don’t have children at home, we do share our lives with three sweet and lovable furbabies.
I’ve spent my entire career serving Butts County students. I’ve taught middle and high school ELA and Social Studies, and served as an Instructional Coach at both the school and district levels. In 2021, I was honored to return to Henderson Middle School as an Assistant Principal—a role I consider a true honor.
Thanks to the collective efforts of our staff, students, and community, I was humbled to be named the 2024 GASSP Assistant Principal of the Year, and to represent Georgia as the 2025 NASSP Middle School Assistant Principal of the Year. These recognitions reflect the incredible work happening every day at HMS.
As we move forward, my goal is to continue building on the greatness that defines HMS. Supporting our teachers and students is at the heart of what we do—but we can’t do it alone. Our success depends on the partnership we share with our families and community.
Please don’t hesitate to reach out. I’m here for you!
Let’s make it a great year, Tigers! 🐾
