      The Georgia School Superintendents Association (GSSA) recently announced the recipients of the GSSA President’s Award at its spring Bootstrap Conference. This year, GSSA awarded Mr. Brent Lowe, the Superintendent of Butts County Schools, the 2025 Georgia School Superintendent Association President’s Award.

      We have been in constant communication with the Butts County Offices and Road crews and we don’t feel like the roads will thaw enough today to not have patches of black ice tomorrow even up to as late as 11:00 in shaded areas; therefore, we are cancelling school for Thursday, January 23rd.

      On Monday, August 12, 2024 at approximately 12:05 PM, it was reported to a Jackson High School administrator of a possible weapon on campus. Out of an abundance of caution, the school was immediately placed on a Code Yellow and law enforcement was called. All students and staff are safe.
